Just one more day and i'm starting uni already. I know i've had 7 months to relax and do the things i've always wanted to do but yet i still feel unprepared. I have no idea how things are going to be in uni when i start simply because it's a different campus and a foreign course to me. i wish i had my last few days to do nothing and clear up my messy room but it was not to be. Ling's birthday celebration was 2 days ago and Suyi left Malaysia yesterday night.

Gosh during the 3 days, i was out most of the time except for when i go to bed, i didn't even see my mom and dad once. On friday we went up to KL to check in at a hotel there, and had dinner at Delucca. They had a live band performing blues songs and the singers were really good. Oo oo, the waiter that served us was really good too so I told the manager about it. Hehe, I believe that everyone that does well deserve to be praised. :) Then we dedicated a song to Ling, Jackson 5's I'll Be There, and surprised her with a birthday cake. :D That night we made our very own margarita, just lime juice and tequila, plus salt that we bought from 7eleven haha.

Everyone slept at about 5 a.m. plus and i woke up at 10a.m. Everyone else was still dead asleep at 10. I was like goshhh... how on earth am i gonna wake all this night owls?? After checking out at 12, we had dimsum for lunch in Pavilion and decided to make something for Suyi. When we finally got back to Subang we started working on the notebook for Suyi. And we were on it until about 10 plus cause we had a last looong nice chat with Suyi. It's so nice to be able to sit outside at Suyi's "resort" and just laugh, reminisce and talk for hours about all the silly things that has happened. And realizing every time how small this world is. Things are happening so fast. Soon, most of us won't be here.

After church yesterday, despite everyone being so darn tired, we went to Ling's house to finish the book for Suyi. When we were done it felt as if we just completed a school project heh. The book is so nice we all wanted it for ourselves haha! Then we rushed to KLIA to send Suyi off. Suyi's the first in our group to leave and so none of us were prepared for the farewell. When the time came for her to leave it was so emotional, tears just kept coming. Yet we know at the very back of our minds that we will see her again... very soon.

And so i do hope that i will start to get used to farewells, or i'll be having red nose and puffy eyes everytime i go to the airport. During my 7months one of the best things i did was to spend time with my friends that i neglected so much before and give myself some time to unwind. I know that the season's changing and that the next big thing is just round the corner.

And in the midst of all this, i felt a joy i never felt before. As i take some time to pray one of those tiring nights, i felt a peace and a joy so real i kept smiling to myself. For at that very moment i felt so blessed. To have all that i have, my brothers and sister and my friends.

Shabu Shabu

I feel like blogging about food hehe :) Andrew brought me,my bro and Leo to Shabu Shabu in Puchong last Sunday. I'm beginning to think Andrew's favourite food is steamboat... Puchong sounds far but it really isn't. It's a Japanese style buffet steamboat. Unlike the usual Chinese ones, each person has their own pot. And I especially love the fact that when you press the button for more heat, the soup in the pot starts boiling almost immediately! :D so convenient! Everyone seats facing the moving belt thingie(like for sushis), so you don't have to walk anywhere. haha! good thing so you don't have to parade your big belly!

above is the control for the amount of heat supplied to your pot

the side dishes they offer while we're seating down, be sure to try the sausages!

Leo's boiling pot hehe

Andrew's excited face, can't wait to consume every yummy thing

bro n Leo

the entrance so if you would like to try this place, check whether the entrance looks like this

Just a tip, if you enjoy spicy food, order kimchi and pour it into your soup, trust me it's good :)

World Class??
Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Some of you may know that i applied for 2 scholarships, The Star Education Fund and Taylors World Class. I have submitted everything since March and have been waiting anxiously for a call. While of course working at same ol' same ol' education centres. Taylor's told me that if I'd been shortlisted, they'll call me roughly the 3rd week of April. So it's been what? the fourth week?? so i got pretty disappointed and losing a lil hope BUUTTT (yupps, you know its coming :D) they called yesterday and i am shortlisted!! HEHE Praise God! :D

Of course, i would have to go through 2 interviews before knowing whether ill get it but I'll give my best right? The first interview is 7th May, which is next week... I have been told that the interview will be real soon but i haven't been told that i was supposed to come up with a power point presentation AND researched on the partner hotels. Getting really nervous right now, i never really liked using power points. Thank God for all the power point presentations I've done in SAM last year!

p.s. pray for me ya! :)

No longer a virgin

I'm very proud of my virgin hair. i've never done anything to it, never coloured, never permed or straightened. BUT on the 28th of April 2009, my hair lost its virginity.

It's a memorable day. I was with Ling and Hui. Ling highlighted her hair red (i loved it). I dyed my whole head and highlight. brownish colour. But i regretted the fact that it was not obvious. So remember all you girls that still have virgin hair, if you're gonna dye it or highlight it, make sure its obvious!

back from the dead?
Saturday, April 4, 2009

well, yeah, i know how long it's been but i don't want to blog just for the sake of updating my blog. Initially i wanted this blog to be a memoir of what i've done, the events i've been to. But i've been doing so many things, it's hard to blog about it all. so i decided that i'll just blog when i'm inspired to do so.

And today, or tonight, whatever you want to call it, I'm inspired. Finally!! I know, right?? haha!

I was out today to watch Confessions of a Shopaholic. Me and my sis went Mid Valley simply because we didn't want to go Pyramid yet again. We took a cab which costs RM18 there n Rm21 back. Well, the cab story will be later. The queue for any movie in Mid Valley is amazingly long. I can't remember when was the last time i actually watched a movie in Mid Valley but the queue went an entire circle around the 'ring thingie where you can look down' yeah that. I have no idea what it's called. I was standing there in the queue ranting and complaining probably looking like everybody else about the darn sun. The SUN in a shopping mall! That area is probably the hottest area (heat okay) in the entire Mid Valley and also the most packed area. Haven't they thought about that before they made the ceiling transparent to the sun's heat? I guess not.

Despite the super long queue we managed to get ourselves 2 tickets, 3 rows from the screen. I loved the movie. it's not that i can relate so well to it (I'm no a shopaholic) but because it's hilarious! Remember the part where Alette was in Rebecca Bloomwood's parent's house? The cake part? Gosh! i was laughing even after the movie. I'm laughing now just thinking about it. Oh come on, just laugh okay?

alright, enough bimboness, i'm moving on.

I usually don't talk much with cab drivers. It's always like business. You drop me there and i'll pay you. That's it. You don't need to know me and i don't need to know you. Don't give me that look. I know you don't either. Don't get me wrong, I don't look down on them, it's just that my mom have always made me paranoid about taking cabs in Malaysia. Personally, i think i trust cab drivers more than i should. or atleast more than my mom thinks i should. So i'm happy when cab drivers are nice and talkative. The cab driver that fetched us back from Mid Valley was talkative, not exactly nice, a lil rough, the kind of roughness anyone will get if they became a cab driver.

You know how much we complain about cab drivers ripping us off? i know a lot of people that do. what i found from this cab driver is that the cab drivers are reluctant to use the meter because the association in charge approved the coupon sellings for a higher price. you don't understand? If you want to take a cab from Pyramid to Mid Valley you have to buy a coupon worth Rm18. if the cab drivers follow the meter like any decent cab drivers should, it'll come up to Rm13. And to know that the association in charge approved of the higher price made all decent cab drivers 'mogok'. These cab drivers are normal adults, they are human beings like you and me. If you are an accountant, guess what? They are cab drivers. This does not mean that they do not have a family to feed. thousands of people use public transports in a day, who do you think provides this service? I'm not saying you should look for a cab that doesn't use the meter. Hell, this cab driver uses the meter. I'm saying, "Wake up, you're not the only one paying the price of a corrupted country".

New Year, New resolutions
Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Happy New Year everyone!!! :D he he..

Okay, so i know that i am 6 days late BUT it's still the new year right?? he he.. I just rewrote my new year's resolution and when i was looking back at all my previous new years resolutions i realized ONE thing. Every year i have similar resolutions. I mean come on, i have to be more creative than that this year!!! It's always, pray and read bible everyday, get straight As, spend more time with friends and family. Yup, and oh, don't forget exercise regularly and eat healthy. Which i might add i have never been able to follow. You wanna know why?? Cause I don't remember them, silly!! and many other reasons..

So after hearing Pastor's preaching on Visions and Values I decided to be serious this year. MORE serious. I'm always serious by the way. hehe.. Ling, don't give me that look. There's a few steps that you need to follow if you wanna make sure you eat, sleep, drink, pee, read and keep your 2009 new year's resolutions!

p.s. this may sound familiar because i did.. ahem, curi some points from Pastor's sermon..

Number 1:
Keep it to only 5. YES, F-I-V-E. I know, I know, i struggled with that at first too. but you'll come around. :) i usually have 10 but that's not so bad. Some people have more than 20. Just a reminder, you can shorten your resolutions if you avoid this:

1. Keep very healthy.
2. Exercise regularly.
3. Drink lots of water.
4. Quit smoking.
5. Eat balanced diet.

If you do write like this, they're ALL under the same category!! And can be grouped together which leads me to my next step.

Number 2:
Categorize your 5 new years resolutions into 5 different categories (you cannot follow on if you in the first place did not do the first step). This is to ensure that all areas of your life are improved and that no area will be neglected. AS I know some of you would like to write like this:

1. Get a girlfriend/boyfriend.
2. Attend more events/gatherings/parties to meet people (especially that of the opposite sex, or if you're gay-same sex).
3. Stop chrunching on those oh-my-goodness-heavenly chocolate bars.
4. Jog like 10 rounds in the park.
5. Stop glaring at people when they complement me.

So the flaw of the above is that it only covers 2 areas, relationships and health. What about your career and finance and spirituality? You can follow the example from the card given by my church which is Health, Finance, Marriage/Family, Career/Studies and Ministry.

Number 3:
Make sure that every resolution is SPECIFIC!!! I mean, come on!! How on earth do you expect to exercise regularly or eat healthy if you don't even know what's the first step? Or how do you expect to spend more time with your family? Define it. Make every resolution something that you can do and not just what you plan to achieve. Example:

1. Eat 3 meals and drink at least 1 bottle of 1.5 litre water a day.
2. Get straight As for final examination.
3. Bring at least 1 friend to church.
4. Spend every Sunday afternoon with my family.
5. Save RM50 every month.

That's for students by the way. So if you are a working adult, you should be able to save much more than that and you wouldn't need to get straight As but rather an increment or a promotion.

Number 4:
Keep your resolutions some where that you will see everyday. Indeed it is true even for this, that out of sight, out of mind. NOT absence makes the heart grow fonder!! Don't expect yourself to remember something that your mind haven't registered. Do not write it on a piece of scribbling paper with your UNsharpened pencil and chuck it in between a book you never read.

Why not paste it at the side of your wall so that when you sleep and wake up in the morning you can see it. Or at your bathroom mirror (if you don't open your eyes in the bathroom when you just wake up, don't paste it here). Or at the side of your computer screen (unless you have a laptop). Or infront of your toiletbowl so that when you're doing your business you get to remind yourself of your resolutions. hey, you get to kill two birds with one stone! Oh, and please stick it at your OWN bathroom. We don't want other people's life getting better now, do we?

Number 5:
Make sure that EVERY resolution is possible. The reason for this i believe is crystal clear. You do not want to write this:

1. Climb Mount Everest (if you have never climbed even Mount Kinabalu).
2. Exercise 3 times a week (if you can't even exercise 10 minutes a week).
3. Eat only vegetables and fruits (if you will start being grumpy and weak without meat).
4. Save RM300 a month (if your allowance is RM300)

Alright, so you get the drill. See yourself doing the resolutions and achieving it before writing it down. If you can't even picture it, what makes you think you can actually carry it out? You can upgrade your resolutions once you have done it.

I am sure that with sheer determination and by following these steps that you can and you will make this year's resolutions a thing of the past! :D All the best and may this year not be another year of forgotten resolutions!

Er... there's no guarantee though. It's all up to you!

I especially love this that Pastor said, "If our vision is small, but out value is big, our vision can grow. But if our vision is big, but our value is small, our vision will die."
